Here is the finished video of Dogwood staff and students wearing their Dogwood shirts and showing their school spirit. We miss you, Dogwood! Thank you to Mrs. Iwagami for making this video for us all to enjoy. At the beginning of April, we asked students to log into Epic books and start reading. We especially asked children to read the assigned books on the Earth and the Environment. Wow, have kids ever been reading! Congratulations to Lincoln, Evan C., Milad and Ethan who have read 100% of the Earth and Environment books. Honourable mention to Aaliyah H., Aiden, Alexandros, Cathy, Chloe, Evan G., Isabela, Isaiah, Jaxon, Kavin, Lucas, Mehr, Mylen, Nihal, Rebeca, Ryan, Tyler, Yash and Yerim who have all read some of the assigned books. Way to go grade ones!
Look at this Lego collection. Do you like to build with Lego, too? We miss you, too!
There are lots of fun things happening at home. Here's our first video:
As of today at 3:45 pm the grade ones at Dogwood Elementary have read for 103.9 hours and completed 895 books on the Epic reading site! Wow!! You are amazing readers! Keep up the fantastic job grade ones. Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Watt are so proud of you.
Here is a short video explaining to parents the purpose of using a ten frame in math. All of the work described in the video has already been done with your child. Now we are moving on to addition and subtraction of numbers to 20. That is why I asked your child to make two ten frames. Try some of the activities shown in the video to help you check for understanding with your child.
